In this guide, we will first consider the enormity of home fraud in our country as evidenced by the Consumer Federation of America [CFA]. We are doing this because there is an apparent absence of a united front among communities where private homes predominate. Neighbors are not as organized as we can be for looking after each other in these matters. What happens in our neighborhood is our business. If one neighbor is defrauded – another is targeted – we may be it.

*Did we know that of the Top 10 Consumer Complaints in the United States, most are frequently related to incidences of home improvement fraud? This is especially evidenced on an annual basis via the Consumer Federation of America [CFA].

*The neighborhoods in which we and others live become as one – each being
complimentary to the other. Put simply, regardless of our notable distinctions, we share an identical threat from undesirable individuals in the building trades. They crossover from one neighborhood to whichever adjacent to it. Locally, with consideration to the subject matter, we find that there are basically 2 types neighborhoods: Immediate and Neighboring

Like with any other private home, there is never a time when one thing or
another does not have to be attended to. Among the predictable of private home living are the physical demands for continuous maintenance and occasional renovations and improvements. And, of course, it goes without saying that in order for us to continually enjoy the comforts and conveniences of home it is imperative that we keep it well maintained and occasionally authorize a few improvements.

In other words, it is not simply having the home which guarantees all these wonderful benefits. Instead, it is also proactively caring about the condition of our homes to the point of always doing what is reasonably necessary to that effect. After all, our  homes are not “self-maintaining and improving.”

Therefore, the obvious reasoning behind it all is that if we expect the home setting to continually take care of us, there is the basic requirement for us to likewise take care of it. Evidently, what we are referring to is a very general principle towards conscientiously benefiting from virtually anything in life. In order to achieve benefits specific to what we would like to achieve, it is always imperative that we do what is specifically required to that end.

Typically, it is in the area of our special home projects or those which are outside our personal norm, where we face the greatest challenges. This is particularly so when it comes to our personal standards for hiring required contractor assistance. Neighbors with the highest standards for deciding wisely in this regard, evidently avoid making hiring mistakes most others do. Subsequently, it is not unfair to honor these among us as top homeowners in the related decision-making process.
